1.5 t/day food waste · also: Start-up
Bert biogas technology is not a concept on paper. Bert Energy GmbH (Germany) and its joint venture Kankyo Bert (India) have built and operated plants on three continents, from 100 kg of food waste a day in a single container up to an 800 m³ digester with combined heat and power.
A complete biogas plant, fully containerised and mobile: sorting table, feed and slurry tank, digester, gas holder, gas treatment and control panel all fit inside one 20-foot container. Built by Kankyo Bert in India.
The plant can be placed discreetly right where the food waste is produced and turns it into cooking gas and fertiliser on site.
Walk through the plant step by step. Each component is labelled, exactly as in the video.

Bert Energy GmbH, founded in 2010 in Leverkusen, Germany, has built and licensed biogas plants in around 15 countries across Europe, Asia and Africa, directly and through Kankyo Bert in India. The European plants alone produce more than 70 million kWh a year. Many have now run for over ten years.

Kankyo Bert, the German-Indian joint venture of Kankyo Cleantech India and Bert Energy GmbH, delivers turnkey biogas projects across India. The first mobile, containerised plants were built as Bert Mobil and are shown below. Their successor is the new MiraX series, built in series and shipped worldwide.

Every new Bert project builds on proven engineering rather than an untested concept: more than a decade of operating plants, from a single container to farm and industrial scale.
